April come back!!

So I really don't know where the time went last month. after my birthday celebrations its seems May arrived and I could not get a blog post in edge ways! That pretty much summed up the end of April for me. Ben and I weren't able to finish our movies that we put on without crawling to bed 15-20 mins in, I didn't have a chance to meal plan or even get to the grocery store...it was bad! And now I think about it I have no idea what stopped me from getting things done!

Okay, maybe I remember a few things...

Cordelia and I got to enjoy a wonderful Mother/daughter activity at church. We made necklaces from washers, nail polish and ribbon. We made flower pens, note book covers and enjoyed doing some zumba together. Oh and as there was nail polish around we painted our nails!

Cordelia enjoying Zumba...I joined in shortly after.
Oh, but before we left to enjoy our night out, I nearly had a heart attack. Ben had left a few minutes before Cordelia and I, so I let the puppies out so they'd be set until we got home.  Well I go to let them back in and only Jada was in the back  yard! Where was my Bella Boo?? I check the side gate and it was wide open! WHO stole my Bella Boo? Hang on a second...no one could steal Bella without me hearing her bark them into next week. So where could she be? I immediately call Ben, hysterical, and he of course immediately heads home. Our great neigbors across the road hear my frantic calls for Bella and head over to help me. Cordelia was still in the house so I couldn't leave to look for Bella. As I'm walking in to the house I hear our neigbors calling Bella and who comes bounding out of the woods! BELLA. I was so relieved. I called Ben back to let him know he didn't need to come home, he kindly informs he that he had left the gate open! WHAT!!

183rd Annual General Conference Weekend

We had the pleasure of watching general conference this weekend. The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints holds conference twice a year. Once in the Spring and than again in the Fall. General Conference is transmitted from the conference center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Talks are given by the general authorities of the church that give its members guidance.

I was very blessed after being baptized to be able to go to Salt Lake City and attend conference in person. The experience was fa-nominal.  I would encourage everyone to attend in person, at least once if possible. Anyway back to this years conference. As I mentioned conference is transmitted, and can be watched on BYU-TV (if you have satellite t.v) or in our case we watched it on-line at LDS.org. We have a HDMI hook up from our t.v to the P.C so its pretty much like watching a regular t.v show. Saturday did present a little challenge but we were able to watch 2 out of the 4 hours in between the birthday parties.

I love general conference as I find it is so uplifting. I always hear something that resonates with whatever is going on in my life at the time. The feeling it brings into our home..can only be described as sweet bliss. This year was also one of the first years Cordelia has really paid attention to what was going on. It was so sweet seeing her face light up as she saw President Monson come onto the screen.

Besides the spiritual blessings of conference there are temporal ones too! We get to enjoy the tradition of cinnamon rolls and pineapple and strawberries. This tradition was started by my good friends Ashleigh and Spencer. I was hauled up at home with Strep Throat (luckily no longer contagious) and this was the wonderful breakfast they brought over. Well I loved it so much that it has stuck. This may change in the future as it doesn't quite fit with the new dietary direction I'm trying to take, but I'm taking baby steps!

Yummy!! I forgot to get a picture of them before we dug in : )

In between conference on Sunday Cordelia did enjoy playing some wii, and dress up and dancing and a few other things.

What do you like about general conference?
