Cordelia had her Spring Gymnastics's show a few weekends ago! She had such a good time. We are so proud of her. Enjoy!!

Cordelia's 1st Trip to NYC

So a few friends had mentioned that I was such a stickler making Cordelia save all her Christmas money. My thought was she was so young and hasn't quite grasped the value of money so while I can I should sock it away for her. Also, I didn't just want her to blow it all on fruit snacks...because with a 6 year old that could happen!! Well several things happened. First, Ben and I had taken a few trips into New York City to visit the temple and Cordelia had of course felt left out! She wanted to go to New York City and second a friend had mentioned that Broadway did buy one get one free tickets at this time of year.

A light bulb went off...I could take Cordelia to New York City and she could get to see a Broadway play now that would be a judicious use of her Christmas money! So I started to plan...a lot of the shows were on a Thursday afternoon and evening which wouldn't work with school and work but finally I found a Friday afternoon showing of Cinderella.

So the plan was set we'd ride the train up in the morning, have lunch, try to get to FAO Schwartz and see whatever else we cold get into before the 3pm show.

***This was the Friday before Superbowl weekend I had no idea until Thursday afternoon when I got an alert from the company I brought our tickets through Time Square was crazy!! There was a sea of police and so many people***

All aboard-getting ready to ride the train from NJ to NY

Selfies on the train...we're so excited!

We made it, Cordelia was so excited we got to visit the temple.
The Thursday before we left it dawned on me that Cordelia's Aunt maybe in the City the same time as us! So I got on the horn and it turned out that she would be there and that we could "bump" into her for lunch! It was a life saver as my phone battery dies at the drop of the hat and Lia could hang with us until we had to go to the theater. So we could use her phone to navigate around.
Unfortunately, Spiderman didn't drop by while we were there! But the place was hopping!

Riding the subway..eating fruit snacks!!!

FAO Schwatz-The lego's were amazing!

Let me tell you your fortune!
The big piano was so much fun!
Cordelia did get to play on the big piano
We had the best view from our seats!

Cinderella!
Cordelia and I had such a great time...we felt so blessed that Cordelia was showered with Christmas money to make this trip happen. Thank you Great GrandMom, GrandMom and Great Grammy and Grampy!!

Blackbeard Cave

Okay, So it's been a while since I posted to the blog. I have no real excuse except I have not made time. I did realize that I had a draft of a post so I figured as it was half written I'd start there. SOOOO way back at the beginning of June.....Ben and I were very excited to take Cordelia on a trip to Blackbeard's Cave! There was so much to do, at first we didn't know where to start. While we were walking around we were making mental notes of the places we wanted to come back to!

The park has something for every age group, though, I think kids would really start to enjoy themselves around 3 years old. We started out in the kiddie amusement area, which was reminiscent of a carnival fair ground, to warm up Cordelia and I did the sack slide, then we moved on to a "jeep ride in the jungle". It took Cordelia a few rides to get into it, she was standoffish at first. But then was pulling us in a million different directions to go on every ride : )!

Cordelia ready to have some fun!

Enjoying "driving" the train. It had a horn that she could control.

We also enjoyed miniature golf
We went at the end of the day so toward the end of our time there the sun was starting to go down and it was warm but not July or August hot. Well we still braved the bumper boats. We didn't think we'd get that wet. Well we were wrong! Quite an experience when we didn't have any towels or spare clothes. It was a long ride home.

Cordelia's Gymnastic Summer Show

I started writing this over the weekend, but due to some connectivity issue with our PC I couldn't get it finished so as I have a few minutes at work to jump on-line I thought I 'd get this up! There are more pictures to come..let's just say technology is not being my friend right now!

This past weekend was a fun and exciting weekend with lots going on. Cordelia had her Summer gymnastics show. It was bitter sweet as it was on a Sunday morning so we had to miss church and that just didn't sit well with me. But I also didn't want her missing out on this experience. They do two a year, so we decided to attend this one and skipped the one that was earlier in the new year.

Cordelia was very blessed to have not only Ben and I there, but also her great grandmother (aka Mom-Mom), her Grammy and her Pap Pap and Olivia ( a close family friend who she loves).

Here are all the "proud family" pictures first : )

Grammy and Pap Pap

That's my kid!!

Okay now to the good stuff the program. They had four skill stations set up. 1) was floor 2) was vault 3) was beam and 4) was bars. I have a ton of video and forgot about the cool feature on my phone that lets me take pictures while recording video! (I don't think you really want to see all the videos)  Plus with my little technology issue right now, this was the only other picture that I could get up. Here is what I got! Enjoy the video of her beam routine!
Waiting patiently.

Nearly wordless Wednesday-Cordelia's Photography

Cordelia likes nothing better than to snap pictures with my cell phone. Here's a sample of her photography! Can you tell she likes to use the effects?

Happy Memorial Day!

I hope everyone had a happy Memorial Day! Thank you to all those that have served and to those that continue to serve.

We honored Memorial Day by attending our local Memorial Day Parade. We missed most of the actual parade itself but made it for some of the program they hold. The sun was out and we had Bella with us and so between Bella and Cordelia "melting" we couldn't stay for long, but we enjoyed the time we did get to spend there.

This is our local memorial garden where the memorial day program is held.

We're melting!!
After the parade we went home to finish cleaning up and hanging some pictures that we've been meaning to re-hang forever ago. And then it was the moment Cordelia had been waiting for, for forever. We headed to our neighbors annual memorial day barbeque/ pool party. Cordelia loves to go and hang at their pool. It is heated and with her floats she can "swim" independently. They also have a grand-daughter who is a little younger than she is so she has a friend. Today with the party there were actually quite a few new friends to play with.
Ahh the pool.
Because our neighbors have grand kids they have lots of fun kid size things. Like the lounger chair Cordelia is modeling below.
Ben got to enjoy the usual game of wiffle ball they play each year at the barbeque. He was looking forward to horse shoes too, but before we knew it, it was time for everyone to go home. But they'll have all summer for that!
